COVID-19 Spread Prevention

In-office Procedures and Protocols

  1. Sick Policy: We have directed our staff and practitioners to not attend work if they are ill or showing any symptoms of influenza or Covid-19 and to self isolate if they have been sick. Likewise, we ask our patients not to schedule appointments if ill or showing these symptoms.

  2. Hand Hygiene: We have directed our staff, practitioners & patients to implement frequent hand washing (according to the CDC hand hygiene is the most effective way to prevent the spread of coronaviruses and influenza viruses).

  3. Disinfection: We have added further disinfection procedures and cleaning regimens to our already excellent protocol:

    • We use disinfectants that kill bacteria and viruses

    • We clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces more frequently throughout the day.

  4. Treatment Room Hygiene: We clean treatment rooms, tables and equipment between each patient with medical grade cleaning supplies.

  5. Scheduling: We have taken care with our scheduling procedures to reduce patient contact with one another, and encourage social distancing between patients, staff and practitioners.

  6. Barriers: We have provided our staff with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect both them and our patients and reduce the risk of transmission. Patients are also recommended to wear PPE if possible.

These procedures and protocols are adopted from Worksafe BC and the BC Centre for Disease Control guidelines for preventing infection in clinic settings.

Patients: How can you help?

You can do your part to help us provide a safe environment to our staff, practitioners and other patients by maintaining the following simple procedures:

  1. Delay booking an appointment if you feel ill or exhibit any symptoms of Covid-19 or flu (cough, fever, shortness of breath and so on) until your symptoms are gone and you have been symptom free for 14 days.

  2. Come to your appointment alone *if possible*. This helps us maintain the social distancing and the safety of the clinic.

  3. Wait in your vehicle or outside until the scheduled time of your appointment. We are asking patients not to arrive early to their appointments to avoid groups gathering in the waiting room.

  4. We do accept cash but if possible, try to bring a credit or debit card for contact free payment.
